A Strategic Hub

The link between Denmark and Europe

One of the major factors influencing the significant importance of Padborg Transport Center is Germany. Western Denmark is home to a significant share of Denmark’s total industrial production, and Germany is one of the most important partners in this regard.

In 2021, Denmark exported a total of DKK 788.4 billion, of which DKK 102.3 billion was exported to Germany. This really emphasizes the value of Padborg Transport Center’s border location.

At the same time, it must be taken into account that a large part of overseas transport – to countries such as China and the UK – takes place via container ports in Germany, and this will add further value to the collaboration.

Germany is not alone in having great importance

Basically, Padborg Transport Center has distinguished itself as an international link to the rest of Europe, where Sweden, Poland and the Benelux countries in particular are crucial for both import and export value. This is also clearly seen in the daily truck traffic in South Jutland, where almost 6,600 trucks drive across the border every single day. This corresponds to 54% of all border traffic in trucks.
